“BARRIER PACKAGING SOLUTIONS: A CHALLENGE FOR THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY”

10 + 11 April 2024 – Valencia Conference Centre

MEETINGPACK, the packaging sector’s benchmark meeting on trends in sustainable materials and barrier packaging organised by AINIA and AIMPLAS, will once again address the challenges posed by the circular economy.

MORCHEM, a supplier of adhesives and sustainable solutions for flexible packaging and as part of the value chain, will be represented by part of its sales and R&D team to learn about and discuss innovations in the environmental sustainability of packaging.

MORCHEM kicked off the new year with an International Sales Meeting which was held from 16th to 18th January in Madrid, Spain with the participation of our world-wide sales team.

We had a three-day fully packed agenda, including presentations about our current sales performance, competitive insights and the teams next priorities and projects.

Interaction throughout the meeting was encouraged and we held brainstorming sessions about team building which turned out to be a great success and from which new and interesting ideas emerged.

Thanks to all for your time, active participation and insights!

Madrid, 15 – 17 November

MORCHEM has repeated sponsorship of this year’s FPE Autumn Conferences held from 15th to 17th November in Madrid, Spain, after last year’s success at the Autumn Conference 2022 in Milano.

The conference was well visited by executives from the Flexible Packaging Industry from all over Europe.

Cristina Ventayol, CCO at MORCHEM, gave a presentation on “Morchem your Innovation partner: Flexible Packaging Adhesives and Coatings for Today’s Business Challenges” at the FPE meeting focusing on the current market challenges, such as productivity improvement and the search for more and more sustainable solutions always in compliance with the recycling and food regulations and emphasising that Innovation, Flexibility and Expertise is a must.

The first preliminary regatta of the 37th America’s Cup ended last Sunday having been a great success despite the inclemencies of the weather on Friday, 15th September, first day of the race which had to be cancelled.

The programme for the following days went according to plan, starting on Saturday 16th September with the victory of the ‘Orient Express Racing Team’ and ending on Sunday 17th September with the Match Race and the victory of the ‘American Magic’ Team.

For MORCHEM, involved in the development of innovative top performing light-weight materials and always supporting sustainable projects either driven by electric power or by wind as this was the case, this event was a unique experience which we shared with our customers and Morchem personnel.

We are grateful for the opportunity given to support this great event.

We are glad to announce that our innovative adhesive Morchem PL 2727 AR + CF-740 R laminating adhesive has earned the RecyClass Recyclability Approval.

Following independent standardised testing, Morchem PL 2727 AR + CF-740 R is fully compatible when used up to 4 wt% of the PE film.  This compatibility aligns seamlessly with the cutting-edge recycling processes for natural flexible PE in Europe.

Our trials, conducted in strict accordance with the Recyclability Evaluation Protocol for PE films, yielded impeccable results. There were no compromises in the quality of recyclable material during the processing of PE films.

This achievement marks a significant stride forward in our unwavering commitment to making meaningful contributions to sustainable packaging solutions.

In line with MORCHEM’s sustainability strategy, 28% of our power consumption is now self generated through our second photovoltaic panel expansion thus contributing to reduce our environmental carbon footprint.
